The ROS system was born of necessity. IKEA’s Dutch distribution centre at Oosterhout had a high incidence of forklift collision damage to their pallet racking, which meant frequent, high repair costs. IKEA were keen to reduce the cost of repairs, and asked Hans Slavenburg, a structural engineer based nearby, to help provide a solution. Hans undertook the process of investigation, design and development, which led to the invention of a hydraulic tool and repair procedure that fits a mould to the damaged shelf and through controlled pressure, within minutes, can restore the rack to its original form.

Although the solution was initially developed for IKEA, ROS now offers the patented system to other companies who have pallet racking problems. The ROS Group has a presence in Holland, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chili, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Swiss, Thailand, Turkey, UK and USA.
